The Craft Center at Georgia Tech offers a fully equipped darkroom for black and white photography.  Students supply their own camera, film, and photographic paper, and the Craft Center provides all the equipment and chemicals needed for production of prints from start to finish!

The film development area provides patrons with all the necessary equipment and chemicals for developing small (35 mm), medium, and large format black and white films.  Both plastic and stainless steel reels and tanks are available.  Scissors, can openers, thermometers, and measuring cups are also provided.

Kodak's D-76 developer is provided for film development.  Stop bath, fixer, hypo clear and photo flo are all mixed and ready to use.  A film drying cabinet is available and patrons may purchase negative protector sheets from the Craft Center to safely store their finished film.  A light box is on hand for students wishing to examine finished film.

Four enlargers and various developing trays and tongs are found in the darkroom.  Contact sheet printers, various easels (standard fixed sizes and adjustable blade easels), negative carriers, grain magnifiers, filters, dodging and burning tools and dust cans are all checked out from the Craft Center attendant.  Negative carriers are available in sizes that hold small, medium, and large sizes of film.  Enlargers are all equipped with standard 50 mm lenses, but we also offer 80 mm and 135 mm lenses for enlargements from medium and large format films.
